Members can create audio content by clicking the New Audio button in their Profile Tools. Note the fields with red asterisks must be completed in order to submit a video. During the beta stage, audio files are streamed from the site and not downloadable. More features will be added at a later date.
- Create New Audio by selecting the audio file on your computer. Uploaded audio files may be formatted as .mp3, .wav, .mp2, .aac, or .amr. Maximum file size is 150 MB but will be expanding soon. Note that ideal podcast listening length is generally less than one hour. Depending on the upload speed of your Internet connection and the file size, it could take 10-20 minutes to upload your audio file. Do not exit the site before the upload is completed.
- Enter the Audio Title. The title displays at approximately 50 characters per line. Shorter titles are preferred with optimal length at 3 – 5 words. Few titles should be more than one line.
- Enter a short description. The short description serves as the lead of the audio file when the content is displayed in search results or shared. You can craft a short summary of the audio, describe the music or artists, pose a question the podcast answers or a problem it solves.
- Select a category. You can select only one category for your audio file from the drop down menu. If you would like to suggest new categories, email content@faithvillage.com or share your idea in the Help Desk. If at all possible use an existing category that you then qualify with tags. Categories are not easily changed.
- Enter the most reader-helpful tags. Tags are descriptive terms that help people find your content in search as well as associating with related content. The optimal number of tags is usually 3-7. You may enter tags separated by comma or enter tags separately and then hit enter while your cursor is still in the tag field. If the tags are saved correctly, they will appear beneath the tag field in yellow boxes. Tags can always be deleted by clicking the “x” on each tag. Do not tag irrelevant terms or web sites. This will be considered a violation of our Terms of Use and could jeopardize your use of the site.
